Lumiskin ("we," "our," or "us") is a skincare guidance application that uses face photo analysis to provide visible cosmetic observations, adaptive skincare routines, and progress tracking. Lumiskin provides cosmetic observations only — we do not diagnose skin conditions, medical disorders, or health issues. All analysis is for personal skincare guidance purposes.
We collect different types of information depending on how you use the app.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and optionally your skincare goals, skin sensitivity level, and routine preferences. This information is stored securely in our database to personalise your experience.
When you perform a skin scan, the app captures a selfie photo of your face. This photo is processed locally on your device (cropped, masked, and compressed) before being uploaded to our image hosting service for AI analysis. Photos are used solely for skin analysis.
After each scan, AI-generated skin observations (such as visible acne, redness, texture, and tone) are stored alongside your scan record. These results are used to generate routines and track your progress over time.
We collect anonymised usage data (such as which features you use and how often) to improve the app. This data does not include your photos or analysis results.
We collect your subscription tier and status via our payment provider. We do not store your payment card details — these are handled entirely by the payment processor.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or face photos to any third party for marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes.
Because Lumiskin captures face photos, we want to be especially transparent about how this sensitive data is handled.
Your face photos are used exclusively to generate skin condition observations. They are not used for identity recognition, facial authentication, advertising targeting, or any purpose unrelated to the analysis you requested.
Before any photo leaves your device, it is cropped to your face area, an oval mask is applied, and it is compressed to reduce file size. This pre-processing happens locally and is designed to minimise unnecessary data transfer.
Processed face photos may be uploaded to Cloudinary, a cloud media management service, to generate a secure URL. This URL is used to pass the image to our AI analysis service. Cloudinary is subject to its own privacy and security policies.
The image URL is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for visible skin analysis. Claude generates observations about cosmetic skin indicators based solely on the image provided. We do not instruct the AI to identify, authenticate, or re-identify any individual.
Your face photos are never sold to third parties and are never used for identity recognition, biometric profiling, or surveillance purposes.

AI-generated skin summaries and routines are conservative estimates based on visible photographic patterns. Their accuracy can be affected by lighting conditions, camera quality, skin tone, facial hair, and other factors. Results may be incomplete or incorrect.
By using Lumiskin, you acknowledge and accept these limitations and agree that Lumiskin and its operators are not liable for any harm, medical decision, or outcome arising from reliance on the app's output.
To access the full features of Lumiskin, you must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for your account and must keep your credentials secure.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, are used for unlawful or harmful purposes, or are found to be fraudulent. You may delete your own account at any time from the Settings section of the app.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All scan history, progress data, and personal information will be removed from our systems.

Lumiskin offers a paid subscription plan — Lumiskin Pro — at $12.99/month (plus applicable tax). Subscriptions are processed through the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). By subscribing, you agree to the following:
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription management settings:
Cancelling stops future charges. You retain access to Pro features until the end of the current billing period. We do not provide partial refunds for unused subscription time.
All refund requests are handled by the respective app store (Google Play or Apple App Store) under their own refund policies. Lumiskin does not process refunds directly. Please contact the relevant app store support if you believe a charge was made in error.
Deleting your Lumiskin account does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel it separately through your app store subscription settings before deleting your account to avoid future charges.
New subscribers may be eligible for a 3-day free trial of Lumiskin Pro. During the trial, you have full access to all Pro features at no charge.
